Saudi Crown Prince: Palestinians should take what the U.S. offers

As odd as it may seem to many “peace” seems to be the word that we could use to describe the Trump presidency. Syria aside of course, though he claims his actions there are so designed. We have peace on the table between North and South Korea which, I believe is largely due to China not wanting a destabilized region. Now, in similar fashion we have Saudi Arabia stepping in to the Israel/Palestine conflict.

The Saudi Crown Prince said, “In the last several decades the Palestinian leadership has missed one opportunity after the other and rejected all the peace proposals it was given. It is about time the Palestinians take the proposals and agree to come to the negotiations table or shut up and stop complaining.”

Much as Trump’s chest thumping with Un lead to the peace talks there I think the opening of a US embassy in Jerusalem will lead to peace there. Just like with North Korea and all the media saying he was going to start WWIII they also say his Jerusalem plans are “a deadly provocation”. But much like North Korea I think they will turn out to be wrong.

Trump said of Jerusalem, “Today we finally acknowledge the obvious: that Jerusalem is Israel’s capital. This is nothing more or less than a recognition of reality. It is also the right thing to do. It’s something that has to be done.”

Like with North Korea the media and elite rent their garments and gnashed their teeth in fear of the coming horror his words and actions would cause. But instead it seems it sent a ripple across the middle east. The thing so many of them had been fighting about for so long suddenly took a turn against them backed by the most powerful nation on earth. Though terrorism may have punched the us in the face and knocked down a couple of buildings it did not knock the US to the ground. They can should their victories all they want but they have to know they are shallow and not long-lasting. They have to know that the only way they will ever gain any kind of victory over the US is if the left has its way and gets rid of the 2nd Amendment. That’s the direction they want things to go. Otherwise, they aren’t going to move us. They aren’t going to move Israel either and perhaps it is time, like the Saudi Crown Price says, that they realize this and move forward with a peace that will get them some actual land of their own, some actual sovereignty. If the Arabians help out and put muscle behind it, then that conflict, so long fought, would also be done and over with.

I can hardly imagine what would happen in a world where the Korea’s are united, and the middle east at peace. Imagine a ripple that would go through these various lands and cause conflicts to stop. Imagine a world where you could travel where you like and trade with whom you please! That has never really seemed possible to me but I naively am beginning to think it is.

In a closed-door meeting with heads of Jewish organizations in New York on March 27th, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman (MBS) gave harsh criticism of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen), according to an Israeli foreign ministry cable sent by a diplomat from the Israeli consulate in New York, as well three sources — Israeli and American — who were briefed about the meeting.
