All the Left Offers is Misery, All Socialism Has is Pain

This is not the first time that Bill Maher has said this, that he thinks if we have a recession that it would mean Trump would not get elected again. He’s getting a lot of attention for saying this but in reality the entire leftist agenda is based on people doing poorly. If people are doing well, then the left has nothing. True conservatism (I have to say “true” because there are other brands) is to leave people alone, to get out of their way, and to believe in them that they can succeed. Government’s job is to protect them and their property so they can do what they want with their time and their goods.

True liberalism, the good kind, is letting people be free. That kind of liberalism is what our country was founded on. What we have today is neither true liberalism, nor true conservatism. And on each side of the political spectrum we have people like Maher who think that the only way the government succeeds is when people suffer. When you get down to it, that’s the truth of the matter. People, you and I, are just surfs meeting the ends of the politicians who seek for power over their federal man. Then they have the unmitigated gall to act like they are righteous and any who oppose them are wicked.

Trump, it seems, opposes them. He’s not one of them and is already powerful. From the outset they have sought to destroy him because of this. I didn’t vote for Trump because I liked him. I’ll admit that. The only reason I voted for him was that he wasn’t Hillary. Since the election he’s been boorish and course but he’s also done some pretty amazing things to help our nation. Things that get ignored by the media.

Bill Maher

HBO host Bill Maher has doubled down on his assertion that an economic recession in the United States would be welcomed if it stopped President Trump from being reelected in 2020.
