The perspective discussed in this article is that the trans gender issue has become a sort of shared delusion. It gets into the minds of people and they consider it to be true and that particular consideration is all they require. People believe all sorts of things that aren’t true. We use more than 10% of our brain, the Chevy Nova sold just fine in Mexico, and Nepoleon was actually average height for his time. Despite nine CDC research projects showing that vaccines do not cause autism many people still believe they do. And of course there are still a lot of people (though fewer) that believe that mankind is causing climate change. My point is that there are lots of things that a great number of people believe that simply aren’t true. This article postulates that being “a woman trapped in a man’s body” is one such delusion.
Hopefully no one is arguing that people are not suffering, they are, but the big question is just what they are suffering from. If we approach the subject logically one of four things must be true:
- The person has a mental illness
- The person chooses this lifestyle
- The person was born that way due to a genetic birth defect
- The person’s genetic make up changed later in life due to disease or mutation
The thing is, we have zero proof that it’s genetic. Yes, we have people who say they were born that way, but we’re just taking their word for it. That’s just the intellectually honest perspective. I’m not sure I agree with the author of the below linked article that it’s a mass dilusion however, I do feel society is jumping the gun by ignoring the very real possibility that it’s the symptom of a mental illness.
