Wee, sleeket, cowran, tim’rous beastie,
O, what a panic’s in thy breastie!
Thou need na start awa sae hasty,
Wi’ bickerin brattle!
From Robert Burn’s poem we get that famous line, “The best laid schemes o’ Mice an’ Men”. This highlights that sometimes, what we plan out, no matter how much we think about it, isn’t the thing that happens. Sometimes though, the failed plan is due to a failure to think it through all the way. In the case of people who are against guns and against violence and have as their planned solution to take away guns they fail to see, like the mice is the poem, how things will turn out.
Gun control isn’t anti-gun or anti-violence. It’s very much pro-gun and pro-violence. If you don’t think so, you haven’t thought it through. Guns will be used to take the guns and violence against those who resist. Rather than protect your schools, which, statistically speaking don’t need anymore protection anyway, you incite violence and war. You are no saint or hero, but rather a mouse scurrying about excitedly unaware and hasty.
