You may have heard television personality and all around nice guy Mike Rowe recommend this book as he’s often done. Though I am nice I’m not much of a personality still I’d like to throw my recommendation behind this book as well. It is easy to read, easy to understand and logical.
The book is a favorite among libertarians and has been endorsed by Ron Paul who said:
“I strongly recommend that every American acquire some basic knowledge of economics, monetary policy, and the intersection of politics with the economy. No formal classroom is required; a desire to read and learn will suffice.”
Ron Paul listed this book as one of several he suggests will give Americans that knowledge.
One good quote from the book is, “..either immediately or ultimately every dollar of government spending must be raised through a dollar of taxation. Once we look at the matter. In this way, the supposed miracles of government spending will appear in another light.” I especially think this bit of understanding is vital for Americans to have. The Revolutionary War was a war against high and unjust taxes. It should be in American blood to want them low and as few as possible.
